Nashville Skyline...

So, I have finally revamped Bits and Baubles. I wanted to go with something a bit more ethereal and dreamy... closer to the vibe of my personal style. The new image is a collage of a picture that I found of Twiggy in the 70s mixed with images of crystals and Geodes from a vintage book about Crystals and minerals. How does it relate to Nashville you ask?


I found a crystal in the book that closely resembles downtown Nashville's Batman Building ...VOILA!!!

Kaviar Gauche

The first time I spotted a Kaviar Gauche bag was in the elevator of my old apartment building in NY. This very eccentric lady that lived in my building was carrying it, and let me tell you guys it was the most amazing bag I have ever seen...words cannot describe. I had forgotten all about Kaviar Gauche until recently, I was reading British Elle and apparently Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine wears a lot of pieces from their collection, which by the way also includes a clothing line. They are not a highly publicized label which makes it all the more appealing. While everyone else carries their Louis Vuittons, you can carry your Kaviar Gauche ;)

Drafting a Muse

I picked up the fall/winter Muse magazine yesterday! and was psyched to discover Cedric Rivrain's illustrations of Natasha Poly. His work and detail is incredible!! They remind me so much of the illustrations of Sarah Moon, which I have posted about and am totally obsessed with! I was double psyched when I found a Margaret Keane print and Sarah Moon style print yesterday at Goodwill...I'll post those pics up soon.

Goodwill is my jam! I remember shopping Goodwill in high school and being laughed at. Now Goodwill is everyone's second home, go figs. I was very pleased to hear that M.I.A wore a suit from Goodwill to meet with Anna Wintour yesterday. I admire the audacity, and I don't give a shit tude this lady wears. While most people would think doing something like this is passe' I have no doubt in my mind that this suit was probably Super Stylin!! While we're on the subject, I have found a total of 4 really amazing Dior Suits in mint condition at Goodwill that would surely gain the favor of Anna W. Oh and this Dior robe (picture above) that I found today for a total of $2 (green tags are 50% off this week) see for yourself the tags still on it!!

On the same token, a friend of mine recently got married. She told me the story of her wedding gown. It is a 100 year old perfectly preserved, gorgeous Victorian lace gown, from...Guess Where?? GOODWILL!!!

Can I tell you what I am stoked about? I was reading in last weeks Nashville Scene that ex Slits guitarist Viv Albertine is playing THE END on tonight! I had to read it twice to believe that she was actually making a stop in Nashville, and at THE END no less.

Ok Don't lie you totally wanted to be Natty Gann when you were a little girl, I still love the newsboy style she pulled off so well in this film. When I was a kid, I was always fascinated by the androgynous actress Merdith Salenger, who just so happens to be a pretty bodacious babe in real life.

I just recently watched this film. It is relatively boring other than the fact that Edie Sedgewick, Jane Holzer and Nico are strikingly beautiful on camera.

Meow Meow for Miu Miu.

Miu Miu showed the greatest collection! Cat prints galore, I love a good print and my favorite animal is a cat! So I think I am going to need every single piece of this print.
