The Marchesa Fashion Show at the Symphony was literally breataking! As each piece was sent down the runway I found myself unabashedly gasping aloud at the extravagance and elegance of it all. Exquisite beading, lace and applique detailing amidst a sea of tulle. Just witnessing the show was such an honor, I can only imagine how it must feel to actually wear the clothes, pure art!! The collection is best described as fit for a queen or better yet, Faith Hill who closed the show with an amazing set!
Special Thanks to The Nashville Symphony,Laurie Davis, Georgina Champman,Keren Craig, Marissa Collections, and everyone else that made this amazing show possible
Tonight is the Symphony Fashion Show! Marchesa will be showing and I cannot wait!! I will be behind the scenes shooting and getting the scoop so stay tuned for posts!!
I know this is a day early, but I typically don't blog on Sundays and being that tomorrow is Easter I will be with my fam! I hope everyone has a safe and blessed day filled with lots of candy and delicious food!
Lady Gaga rocked it last night! I, of course waited til the very last second to get my ticket, I started doing my makeup at 12pm while at work, thankfully I have full access to whatever line of makeup my heart desires. My mom is the best concert partner so I called her up and said, "Get ready! We are going to Gaga tonight!" Thankfully she was on board. We hightailed it to Bridgestone arena and got our tickets piece of cake!.... The energy in the room was indescribable. Seeing people old and young dress up and put serious effort into their costumes was amazing! It reminded me of a bygone era (that I was too young to be a part of ) where people dressed up and created an exaggerated extension of themselves in order to connect with their favorite artist, a la Ziggy Stardust, KISS etc.
Gaga has such an effect on people it brought me to tears watching her perform. Yes, she is a little strange, but that is what makes her so interesting to watch. I can honestly say she is the only artist besides Michael Jackson that is complete and total no bullshit. She is authentic and true to her fans, she works for a cause and has serious talent to back it all up. I am so glad I went to this show!!
Ok so there is all this beef about Lady Gaga coppin Madonna's style. No doubt she stole some tricks, but lets face it everyone steals tricks. EVEN YOU. If a girl dresses hot, you will cop her style too! Madonna did it to Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe did it to Jean Harlow. So be it.
What I would like to know is why isn't anybody calling Rhianna out for Coppin Sheila E's style?
This week has been a successful buying week, thus the reason for hardly any pass ups. I have seen so many fabulous op-art disasters...
1. Why should such a fabulous print be wasted on polyester? 2. Hawaiian print perfection, Jumbo elastic neckline 3. killer print, too new. 4. killer print, killer color way, cigarette holes :( 5. See #1 6. In love with this pop art tomato print shirt, should have bought it.
