Goodwill Fashion Show!



I am taking a road trip to Knoxville today yee haw!! On my search for local Knoxville thrift stores, I came across Goodwill of Knoxville's website. Now, I know this is a bit off the beaten path, but Goodwill of Knoxville, TN is hosting a vintage fashion show called Dancing through the decades...how cool is that? I sorta wanna go just to see what it would be like.

Dancing through the Decades 24th Annual Vintage Fashion Show & Sale

In a tribute to vintage fashion, Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. will host the 24th Annual Goodwill Vintage Fashion Show & Sale: Dancing through the Decades, on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Hilton in downtown Knoxville. This premiere fashion show and sale will showcase vintage and contemporary fashions, highlighting the fabulous versatility that vintage fashion offers today. All items in the show will be available for sale immediately following the show.

The night will begin with a pre-sale from 5 pm until 6:00 pm where exclusive vintage merchandise including clothing, hats, shoes, coats, furs, formals and accessories will be available to the public. Entry into the pre-sale is only $5 and shopping early will guarantee the best selection of these hard-to-find men’s and women’s items. Dinner will follow the pre-sale at 6:15 pm.

The 2008 Goodwill Vintage Fashion Show and Sale: Dancing through the Decades, will begin at 7:00 pm and feature emcees Beth Haynes, host of WBIR’s Live at Five, and Kevin Cowan, STYLE writer for the Knoxville News Sentinel. Tickets for the show are $35 or $325 for a table of ten and include entry to the show, a full-course dinner, two complimentary glasses of wine, and entry to the post-show sale.

Sponsors for the event include Designsensory, WBIR Channel 10-STYLE, Carlenea’s Hair Fashions, First Tennessee, B-97.5, Knoxville News Sentinel, The Skin Wellness Center, Rock Tenn Recycling.

The 24th Annual Goodwill Vintage Fashion Show & Sale: Dancing through the Decades directly benefits Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc.’s mission of providing vocational training and employment opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment in Knoxville and surrounding communities. In 2006, Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. served 2,026 individuals, placed over 45 into competitive employment and experienced 421 positive program closures.
